I found this on Ablazenet tonight. I like it:

The Lord is my programmer, I shall not crash.
He installed his software on the hard disc of my heart.
All his commands are user friendly.
His directory guides me to the right choices for His name's sake.
Even though I scroll through the problems of life, I wll fear no bugs,
For He is my backup.
His password protects me.
He prepares a menu before me in the presences of my enemies.
His help is only a keystroke away.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
And my file will be merged with His and saved forever.

"'Remember, the people who receive something like (the ad-laden media files), in some cases, were on P-to-P, and they were trying to get illicit files,' Marc Morgenstern, a vice president at Loudeye told PC World."

While I agree with his sentiments that people are out to get illegal files, I disagree that he should be doing what he is doing and should get sued by someone for doing it.
If nothing else, Jesus said, 'Let him who is wothout sin cast the first stone." I wonder if Mr. Morgenstern is without sin.

BBC NEWS | Technology | Microsoft gets the blogging bug: Another Look at the MS Bloging.
"It now estimates that the number of blogs in existence has exceeded 4.8 million, although some speculate that less than a quarter are regularly maintained."
Intersting statistic, even with 1 million people, that is still a powerful voice.

MSN Goes to The Blogs

MSN Goes to The Blogs
Microsoft's move into consumer blogging follows its other challenges to Yahoo and Google for dominance in the hearts and minds of Web users via e-mail, search and now blogging. In early November Microsoft announced its new search beta and has been an active participant in the escalation of free Webmail space that was ignited by Google's Gmail service.
I guess it should be ok that they want to be number one in everything, but I have begun to hate the fact that MS thinks that it can control something after it has taken off. SIGH!

TIME.com: Tearing Kerry Down

TIME.com: Tearing Kerry Down:
"I have never seen a presidential campaign in which the strategies of the two parties are so different, and so dreadful. The Republican strategy is to demolish Kerry, posit the President as a man of simple strength and do everything possible to avoid a discussion of Iraq or the effects of globalization on the American economy. The Kerry strategy is to present an 'optimistic' candidate with a 'positive plan for the future.' "

Excuse me time magazine. Where were you when during the primaries, Kerry and the gang were attacking Bush, saying that he KNEW about 9/11 before it happened, etc. There has been negative out of Kerrys mouth just not recently.

Get your facts right PLEASE.

Ps 136 1 - 26

David is not author, Hezikah is. Mercy is what God desires to do for us to pour out his love for us. And this is forever.

135 and 136 are sister Psalms by Hezikah. 120 -134 are Psalms of degrees. These are a good ending to them. They contain information about creation, Israel, wisdom of worshiping the true God.

1. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

God is a good God. He wants to show his goodness to us, not strike us down. Leave it in His hand. God can turn cursing into blessing. We do not need to know how, just that he will.

2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

We serve the God of Gods. We see terrorism in name of Islam, God is up to the challenge. He did this for Moses with Pharaoh, as well as Elijah at Mt Carmel.

3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Here we talk of Jesus. He is the Lord of Lords.

4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

No matter what great things happen in your life, God is the one that brings it to pass. God is the one.

MSNBC - NYC Mayor to Probe Arrest of Mike Wallace

MSNBC - NYC Mayor to Probe Arrest of Mike Wallace

The inspectors said they asked Wallace to step away from the car, but he refused, and lunged at one of them, TLC spokesman Allan Fromberg told The New York Post.

"I'm an 86-year-old man," Wallace told the Post. "For whatever reason, this guy and his buddy were intent upon telling me that I was interfering with the execution of the law."

Anyone who thinks that a 86 year old man cannot be violent in a lunge obviously did not watch Don Zimmer durring last years World Series games. I would guess that Wallace thinks he is a star and above the law, but that is just a guess on my part.

Grace fellowship 2004 07 18 Pastor Bob Yandian

Matt 24
12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

We minister to them, do not let their lawlessness affect us. How do we help a Christian who needs help?

1 Cor 12
25
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care, one for another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Everyone is a minister of the gospel, especially to fellow Christians. Others have helped us; we need to pass that on to others.

Gal 6
1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

  1. We all have faults. This verse says not to be overtaken by then. Every believer is to grow so that they can be self sustaining.

  2. The spiritually strong are to restore the spiritually weak. Restore is a medical term to put a dislocated bone in place. Put someone back in place. We are to do this in meekness, in humbleness, a teachable attitude. Not as a know it all.

  3. Bear one another's burden. Burden is a heavy weight. God's burden is not heavy. If burden is heavy we are not right with God.

  4. Verse three tells us to think of yourself as nothing. Others can live without us. We are not ones helping, spirit is.

  5. You will be judged by your own works. People are not notches on your gun. Help others to be dependant on God, not on yourself. Your relationship with God is the most important.

  6. Verse 5 burden means a light weight. You are to reach this point.

  7. There are blessings attached to helping others.

James 5
19
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Your help is powerful; you can even help restore years to a person.

Stanard disclaimer: All verses are King James version. All notes are based on what I heard and are not necessarily the point that the speaker was trying to get across.

Thursday, August 05, 2004

I have not kept up to dat with sermon notes and will try to fill that void since I am on vacation from work this week and schools the next 2 as well.

7/11/2004 Pastor Bob Yandian

Matt 24
12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

We are to change the world not it change us.

We are to be at the work of helping restore believers

2 Tim 2
19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

We can find sin in the men of ministry. Ministries have lowered the standards. Large crowds do not mean ministries are good, teaching word of God does. Everyone should live a clean character.

1 Tim 4
1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

We are in the later times. Some will depart from the faith (people). Then ministers, speakers of hypocrisies, will fall. They may not be salvageable.
If people do not follow false teachers false teachers will cease to exist. Power is in the people.

2 Tim 4
3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from, the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

People are the ones with itching ears. People will seek those ministers who scratch them.

1 Cor 14
8
For, if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

Pastor blows the trumpet, if it is not clear people will not know what to do. Ministers must live what they preach.
Acts 20:20 and 1 Pet 5 are examples to the flock.

It is not up to people to be strong it is the leaders reasonability. Commitment comes from pastor to people, and then people will commit to pastor.
2 Cor 12:14

InfoWorld: First Windows CE virus emerges: July 19, 2004: By : APPLICATION_DEVELOPMENT : SECURITY
More info on the Pocket Windows virus. Not sure it affects me, as it only spreads on ARM Ltd. processors. Of course it is a proof of concept virus so it should not ever really get up (RIGHT).

The first PocketPC virus is now known as WinCE.Duts.1520.

This case is very similar to the Symbian Cabir worm which was found a month ago.

This is a new proof-of-concept virus. It has not been found in the wild. It's been written by a member of the 29A virus-writing group. The worm is not known to be spreading in the wild at all. It will be never become a problem in the real world.

Unlike Cabir, Duts is a traditional parasitic virus. It infects other programs in the PocketPC PDA, and spreads from one PDA to another when people exchange programs (for example, by beaming a game).

When an infected file is executed the virus asks for permission to infect:

Dust question

When granted the permission, Duts attempts to infect all EXE files in the current directory.

Duts contains two messages that are not displayed:

One is a reference to the science-fiction book Permutation City by Greg Egan, where the virus got its intended name from:

Dust

As usual, virus writers don't get to name their viruses - we do. So we named it Duts instead of Dust.

The other message is:

This is proof of concept code. Also, i wanted to make avers happy.
The situation when Pocket PC antiviruses detect only EICAR file had to end ....

Do note that this virus would also be capable of infecting mobile phones running ARM-based version of PocketPC.

F-Secure have shipped an update for F-Secure Anti-virus for PocketPC to detect WinCE.Duts.1520.

Read eWeek's editorial on the issue.

Sermon Notes

July 4, 2004 Grace Fellowship 11:15am

Bob Yandian

Matt 24:12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Many Christians are hiding in fear of the world

2 TIM 2
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

He will keep you. God wants us to depart from Iniquity. In dealing with sin, run from it then think instead of thinking about it and then run.

22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Involvement with sin is immaturity (youthful lust). What type of companions do you have? With them that call on the Lord? Surround yourself with Christian friends.

1 Tim 3

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1) Be a one woman man, the same for wife.
2) Deliverance: how to get it
3) Admit it was your fault. You have control over you, not eve god can control you unless you let him.
4) Admit it is a sin. It is not a problem or a mistake.
5) Confession and repentance; to God, spouse, and ones you hurt. Time involved in healing of spouse may be longer than you
6) Remove self from sin source
7) Get involved in church, god, etc.. Get involved in prayer, and with mate.

Sin in ministry

2 Tim 4

10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world,

Your sin will find you out. There is a difference between fruit of ministry and fruit of character. Character will eventually catch up with you. Tree is known by fruit (character). Sin is self centered.

James 3

1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Note: All verses are King James. These are my notes on what I heard and do not reflect what was actually said by the speaker.

Notes from Radio Broadcast for week

Joyce Myers Ministries - Enjoying Every Day Life

NOTE: Though Mrs. Myers uses the Amplified Bible, all translations quoted here are the King James version. All notes are based on what I heard not necessarily what she preached. You may listen to the broadcast at Her web site for up to 20 days after broadcast.
Weary, Worn Out, and Overworked
May 24
If you do not have balance you will have burnout. Doing the same thing over and over is not good, we were made to have a variety in life. Some people work so hard for God that they do not have time for God.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
When you get out of balance, you open yourself to the devil. We are a society driven by society, but we are to be led by the Holy Spirit. Just as a plant needs to be pruned or cut back so that it can grow, we need to prune parts of our lives.

May 25
It is impossible to make everyone happy. You have to have boundaries and the boundary word that you need to use is 'NO'.
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Jesus would go off and be alone some times. He set boundaries. You need to 'come apart' before you come apart. And really, some of us need a good nights sleep.
Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
While the Sabbath may be under the law, it is the principle that needs to be followed here. (By the way, we do not throw out the other commandments cause they are under the law). You are breaking the Spiritual law of rest. What ever work is to you, you need to knock it off for one day out of the week. Part of that time spend time in worship to God, maybe also spend time with the family.

May 26
Be careful that you do not give yourself over to worldly things. People do not put time into relationships any more. How can you be a friend if you are to busy. As your body ages you change. You can not keep the pace you did at an ealier age. So do not try to. Change your habits. Your body will brake down if you try to. Even God rested. During creation He stepped back and enjoyed His creation. You stifle creativity if you are tired all the time.

May 27
When you have excess in one are you will pay for it in another area. When you get stressed out you most certainly will not want to do the things of God. BUSY is a four letter word. We need to take time to enjoy what God has given us.

May 28
1Ki 19:1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
1Ki 19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
1Ki 19:3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
1Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
How do you go from being a mighty man of God to scared man wanting to die another day. He let himself get worn out, he needed a good night sleep. When you get over tired this will happen. How do we know he needed sleep?
1Ki 19:5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
1Ki 19:6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
1Ki 19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
1Ki 19:8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
He was sleeping and eating for several days so that he could build himself up. He was over worked and spiritual dull.
Pro 24:30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
Pro 24:31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
Pro 24:32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Pro 24:33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
Pro 24:34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Now on the other hand, do not go the other way and get lazy. God wants us to do things. He puts into our hearts the desire to do things. Do not be lazy.

May 23, 2004 AM Service Sermon Notes

Bob Yandian

Grace Fellowship.

Ecc 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

Though you can chase after other things, remember that you will stand before God in the end.

Ecc 11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

Youth is a passing thing. Without God, youth is nothing. Do not forget God to pursue worldly things when you are young.

Ecc 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Stay with the Lord or when you reach old age you will say you have no pleasure in life. Things in life cannot substitute for a walk with God. This does not say do not have things, just do not let them get in the way of your walk with God.

This shows Solomon turning his back on God and walking after the things of the world. In the end he says it was not good. Verse 12:1 says basically, 'been there, done that, it does not satisfy, stay with God'. Solomon pursues five things in an attempt to seek the worldly things. Again, none of them are wrong in themselves, unless they cause you to put them before God.

1. Earthly Wisdom

Ecc 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
When you acquire more knowledge, it generally will not satisfy, as you find no matter how much you learn, there is still more to learn when you are done. To live to just acquire knowledge is a sad thing.

2. Pleasure
Ecc 2:10 And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.
Ecc 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

He got what ever he wanted to get so he would be satisfied. In the end he was not. In fact, the more stuff you get the more responsibility you have to take care of it.

3. Possesions
Ecc 2:15 Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.
Ecc 2:16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

After you die, you will not be remembered of any more than the fool. You will both be in the ground. Pastor Bob tells the story of a preacher who God let him see his death, and they buried him, and the people there to mourn go back to the church for a dinner. Afterwards he sees some one say 'pass the potato salad.' After his death, the food was more important then he was.

Ecc 2:18 Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.
Ecc 2:19 And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.

It is suggested he talks of suicide here. But what it does say is the he did not know who would gain his possessions, might that person be a fool (and it was, his son Rehoboum was a fool).

4. Heritage
Ecc 2:23 For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.

He could not sleep at night knowing that his kids could wind up being fools and getting all of his things.

Ecc 2:26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Train kids in God's way. They will not have to worry about things, for God will make money come to them from the hands of the fools.

5. Philosophy he tried the philoshies of the day -

a. Person who belives in a time for everything.

Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

b. Evolutionist
Ecc 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
Ecc 3:19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

c. Universalism - no heaven or hell to go to
Ecc 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

d. Agnostic
Ecc 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

d. Humanist
Ecc 3:22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

He found no pleasure in any of these things. In the end he says, 'Been there, done that, it does not work. '

Yahoo! News - Virtual Devils Curse Internet Church
If they had only asked me I could have told them this would happne. I do not know what it is about Internet resources that are focused for use by Christians that attracks people who are not Christians to be unruly around people who are, but it is predictable based on my expereince in IRC. Well I like the attitude of the person who is running it:
"In a way, we are facing the same problems faced by the first preachers who met resistance when they moved into new communities," said Goddard.

"But the church has always expanded into new communities and some of those are to be found in cyberspace now, so we are determined to carry on."
Grace Fellowship Sunday Morning 11:15 Service May 16, 2005
Pastor Bob Yandian

(Ecc 12:1) Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes as a sort of opposite to the Proverbs. He tried to go and do the worldly things and see if there was satisfaction there. What he is saying in this verse is do not let your enjoyment be in things all around you, they will soon be gone.

The key to enjoying life can be found in Hebrews 2:15

(Heb 2:15) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Jesus came to deliver us from fear of death. We are not to fear it. Fear comes from ignorance.

Biblical views of death:

1. Gospel can be spread in your death as well as your life:
Phi 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Phi 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Phi 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
Phi 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
Phi 1:24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

2. It is alright to look forward to being with God in heaven.
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

3. Spiritual strength replaces natural strength as you get older.
2Co 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

4. Old age is the time to pass on blessings.
Heb 11:21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

Two things that you need to remember in your Christian life.
1. Quit living in the past.
2. Live your life to be a blessing to others.

Application to my life today: Since I am approaching the later time of my life this is appropriate. Death is a focus of life as one gets older. I never have feared death; at times I thought I would welcome it. But here it is quite clear that I can be effective in life. On the other hand, do not fear it, others can still come to know Jesus through my passing.

Sermon note - from CD
The Ultimate Question - Mike Fehlauer

Ephesians 5:
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

We all have times of regrets. They are in all parts of our lives. If we could rewrite them we would. We want to limit them in our lives. Verse 15 leads to this (NIV says: Be careful how you live). There are two types of people, careful and careless people. And the careless people are divided into two groups, they realize what they do and want to fix it and those who could not care about the problems.
The ultimate question is: Is it wise? There are a lot of choices we face that are not addressed in the scriptures, and we need to ask ourselves this question. All other question will not give us an answer that leads up to what the will of God will be. This is a Biblical principal, and keeps us from self deception. We become submissive to God.
Because the time we are living in is evil (v. 16), we need to tap into the will of God. It looks like Paul is commanding us to understand things in verse 17, but that is not possible, you can not command or force anyone to understand things. What Paul is saying is 'face up to the fact of God's will.' Many decisions we make and then regret we have been pointed what we should do and we rejected it. Do not follow your heart; your heart can deceive (Jeremiah). Face up to the facts that you already know.
Three areas to apply the ultimate question:
1 Is it wise in light of my past experiences?
Based on what you have experienced is it wise to do what you have done before. Are there things that are in your life that predispose you to certain temptations? You do not want to get near the edge so that you can fall off.
2 Is it wise in light of my current circumstances?
Am I in the best place to make a life changing decision? It may be a great deal but it might be the wrong time to do it.
3 Is it wise in light of my future dreams and hopes?
Is this where I want me, my family, etc to be in ten years. You need to understand the time of life that you are in and what the demands are at this time. What guidelines are necessary for the time of life that you are in? Though they may seem small, each choice that you make is life altering. They will affect you in time and the series of them can cause you problem. We create a path of destruction with many of our decisions and they do not seem so bad at the time.

An attribute of wisdom: Proverbs 8:22 - 30

22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: 28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; 31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

Wisdom is saying that he was with God in creation; I was beside Him (like a master craftsman). Wisdom, God's wisdom will create the things we need to have. (Marriages, life, etc.).

Notes are my interpertation of what the speaker said. All scriptures are King James Version.

Yahoo! News - Actors Whip Easter Bunny at Church Show:
"People who attended Saturday's performance at Glassport's memorial stadium quoted performers as saying, 'There is no Easter bunny,' and described the show as being a demonstration of how Jesus was crucified.

Melissa Salzmann, who brought her 4-year-old son J.T., said the program was inappropriate for young children. 'He was crying and asking me why the bunny was being whipped,' Salzmann said. "

While I disagree with the way the message was presented, I do not disagree with the message. Easter, like Chistmas, has become a mockery of what it truly is to mean. The Church was wrong in the way they did things though, whipping an Easter Bunny does not score points with those who you are witnessing to, unless they are masochist.

A moment goes by… Suddenly the Mets fan shouts, “This is for everybody!” and pushes the Yankees fan off.

Job 29
v. 1 - 25

Job 30
v. 1- 31
Job's wrap up pt, 2: Now those who respected me mock me. Even young men whose fathers I would not have put with my dogs. Men who would live as outcast now use my name as a curse word. I am drained out. I cry to you God, but you do not respond except with more cruelness. Why does HE still torture these ruins. I am looking for good and find darkness.

v. 1 - 40
Job's wrap up pt, 3: I have not been a lustful man. I have not falsely accused anyone. If I have been let me weighed in God's judgement. Let all that I gain be enjoyed by another. If I could not say these things to you, how could I answer God? We all, my servants and I were made by the same God. I have helped the poor and the fatherless. I have not made gold my hope, nor worshiped things I should not. I have not rejoiced at evil and have asked the stranger to stay with me. Oh that the one who prosecute me would write down my crimes in a book. I have not even been a hard person to the land I own. With this Job goes quiet.

Job complains about violence: Why do wicked men do evil things but do not get punished? While innocent people go around in awful conditions? Evil men who do things in secret do not get punished swiftly by you God! Why is that? But even though they are made might they like the rest of us will die. Can any of you prove my words wrong?

Job 26
v. 1 - 14
Job, Man is frail/God is master: Have you helped people that have no hope. There is a trembling and He is spreading his hand all over the place. We can barely understand the grandur and majesty of God.

Job 27
v. 1 - 23
Job, I am innocent: Though God has taken all from me I will not speak wickedly about Him. But I also will not say that you men are right either. The evil person who gathers all the nice things never gets to enjoy them, but his offspring do as the split it among themselves. And in the end, he will lie to his rest like we will.

Job 28
v. 1 - 28
Job on wisdom: What is deep and hidden is brought to light, like precious metals, so that they can be gathered. But where can wisdom be found? We cannot mine it like metal or precious stones. It is hidden from all living men. God knows what it is. and to man it is the fear of the Lord as is parting from evil understanding.

Job again: I am bitter in complaint. I wish I could present my case before God. Then I would know how he answers me. No matter which way I go he is not there. God has made me weak.

Job 17
v. 1 - 16
More from Job: God has made me a curse word that men speak, some one that they spit upon. God has broken me. But you men come back if you wish, Maybe one wise man will be among you. I see no hope, only a path to my death.

Job 18
v. 1- 21
Bildad takes his second chance: Why are we the stupid ones, will the earth change how it works just for you? The wicked is trapped like a man in a snare, and destruction comes to him.

Job 19
v. 1 - 29
Job's reply to Bildad: How long you going to keep this up? You have wronged me. And God has wronged me. If I cry I am wronged, I am not heard. He has let his wrath out against me. The people that I paid as servants, they do not even know who I am any more. Even little children hate me. Pity me my friends, God has struck me. But I know my redeemer lives! I shall see God.

Job 20
v. 1 - 29
Zophar part two: The joy of a hypocrite is short Job. Evil is sweet in youth, but it hides till later. It becomes like food in the stomach that goes sour. The wicked man flees, and heaven will go after him.

Job 14
v. 1 - 22
Job continues: Man is a fleeting thing, and you are eternal, how can you judge me. Trees and plants will regrow when cut down, but man dies and is in the ground, so why do You cut me down? As a mountain is worn down to dirt, so you are wearing me down God. Oh for relief before I die.

Job 15
v. 1- 35
Eliphaz Round 2: Would a wise man speak emptiness. You are crafty with your tongue you are Job. Do you speak directly to God? What wisdom do you have we do not? Man is born of a woman, he is sinful (my notes to my paraphrase: well we got one thing right here). Wicked men fail, plain and simple.

Job 16
v. 1 - 22
Job Again: Listening to you is like listening to hot air. Who are you answering, not my words. We could trade place and maybe I could speak like you do. Instead, I would give strength to you and not tare you down. You are helping God in his attack against me. God has shaken me like a rag doll and set me down as a target for archers who have pierced my heart. Oh God, if I could plea my case before you.

Judge Resigns Over Alleged Abuse Remarks
The problem is that he is right. No, I do not condone men abusing woman, but, too often the woman know how to hit the men's hot button till they blow, then they claim that he abused me and should never have done it. What if the man had hit her hot buttons till she blew? The shoe would be on the other foot then.

Job 10
v. 1 - 22
Job continues: This is what I would say to God. Do you enjoy inflicting pain. Do you see and feel things like a man does? Remember what you are doing to me when you are done. Why have you brought me to life, leave me alone so I can get peace before I fade in death to darkness.

Job 11
v. 1- 20
Zophar speaks to Job: God, can you tell this guy what he has done wrong? Job, can you understand God? Are you higher than heaven and lower than hell? If you would ask forgiveness he would forgive you and you could go on. Other wise you are a sinner.

Job 12
v. 1 - 25
Job replies - again!: Look guys, I am not stupid, I know as much as you do and I am innocent. You mock me with your accusations. God, who holds all life in His hand is the cause of this.

Job 13
v. 1 - 28
Job continues some more: Why do you speak deceit in defence of God. God, can you take this awfulness off of me then call me so we can talk? Please scare me no more.

Yahoo! News - 'Dirty Bomb' Threat Was Big New Year's Eve Worry
Interesting story. But they ask why we are as a people are not concerned. There were too many cry wolfs in the past. I cannot live like they are going to kill me. God will protect me till my time, and then I will go home.
Britney Spears Annuls Brief Las Vegas Marriage | Reuters | Latest Financial News / Full News Coverage:
"'Plaintiff Spears lacked understanding of her actions to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to marriage because Plaintiff and Defendant did not know each other's likes and dislikes, each other's desires to have or not have children and each other's desires as to state of residency,' the court papers said. "
So let me translate this to English so the rest of us can understand. Though she has known this guy since childhood, she has the IQ of a grapefruit because she does not know any thing about him at all.
I think that sums it up real well.

Job 6
v. 1 - 30
Job replies to Eliphaz: He proclaims that he does not know why God has done this to him. And he wishes that God would crush him, even thinks God would take delight in it. And you who have to comfort me, comfort me do not blame me. Teach me where I am wrong if you will, but do not blame me falsely.

Job 7
v. 1- 21
Job continues: Man on earth is like the servant man who seeks out shade when he should be working or a hired man looking for his wages. I have had my time, it is done, I seek the shade, the death would be like a payment. My days go by so fast and seem to be hopeless. He then asks God how long it will be before God does not pay attention to him, till he can live in peace.

Job 8
v. 1 - 22
Bildad makes his reply to Job: Look Job, God puishes the sinfull and blesses the righteous. Just like a plant will wither when cut off, so will man when he cuts himself off from God. So is the way of God Job.

Job 9
v. 1 - 35
Job replies back again: Look, I know I am innocent of anything that God can try to blame me for. God is so strong, how can I stand up to Him? I despise this life of mine. God allows the wicked to have the earth. God is not a man. I cannot have my day in court with him, there is no mediator with him. Take the rod of pain away from me God! I wish to speak without fear of more pain.

Job 1
v. 1 - 5
We are introduced to Job, a man of wealth and status. But though he seems to love God, he seems to have an obsession that one of his children may have sinned in their times of worship to God.

v. 6 - 12
Over to heaven (it seems) and The Adversary (Satan) is their, and God asks him (as if He had to) where have you been. God points out that Job is upright and Satan says he can bring him down. God allows it. One set of notes that I read states that he was tempted not because he was unrighteous, but because of it and to give him a deeper in sight to God. I will have to ponder on that. Still notice, that God does not give the trials, it is the Accuser.

v. 13 - 22
All that Job owns, and his family (except for his wife we will find) are taken from him by various means, He has lost everything. Job says, I had nothing, God gave it to me, God can take it away, Bless God. Notice those are Job's words. He does not know who really took it all away.

Job 2
v. 1- 8
Back in heaven, comparing notes again, and Satan says, you would not let me make him sick, just take stuff away. God says OK, have at it but spare his life. So Satan makes Job ill with boils all over his body.

v. 9 - 10
Job's wife shows her spirtuality (or lack of it). "Curse God and die" she says. Nope, says Job. I will not. I accepted prosperity from Him,I accept adversity as well.

v. 11-13
His friends come. And join him and at first do not recognize him. They sit with him in silence waiting for him to speak, an ancient Jewish custom I have read. They were covenant friends, and they were there for him, not just people that he knew.

Job 3
v. 1 - 26
Job's First Speech - Job does not curse God. But he does curse a lot of things. The day he was born for starters. Next the fact he was born live instead of a still birth. Then the question. Why will those who seek death never get it, and those who seek life seem to die. And clearly, though not the reason that he has the trials, what he fears has come on him. Satan will use what you fear to torment you.

Job 4
v. 1 - 22
The first friend of Job replies. He says that Job has done well in council of others, so listen to this. You are being punished because you sinned (again, he does not have the inside information we do). He even tries to say to Job, you think you are more righteous than God?

Job 5
v. 1 - 27
He continues his speech. God sends the rains and stops the crafty people. He saves the needy. You should be happy that God is correcting you, do not despise it. Accept this so that you can go on with your life.

Jan 3, 2003 Genesis 8-11

Genesis 8
v. 1 - 19
God remembered that Noah was in the ark 9v. 1). Did He ever really forget? And God stopped the storm from raging. And formed a wind to push the waters together so that the land would be able to form. Noah tests the area several times by relasing birds and then he opened the ark and saw the land was dry, but waited another month before God told him it was safe to venture out. He did and all the animals with him.

v. 20 - 22
Noah's first act, build an alter and offer the blood sacrafices that he knew would please God. And God says he will not destroy the earth because of man's sins anymore. God also establishes here, seedtime and harvest, winter and summer, cold and heat, night and day. Patterns that will never change.

Genesis 9
v. 1 - 17
In v. 4 God clearly establishes that man can eat meat, just meat that does not have the blood still in it. v. 5 and on say that anything, man or animal, that slays innocent blood of a man will have to justify it before God. You see, life is in the blood, and God will not allow blood to flow for no reason at all. God gives life, it is not man's job to take it away. And man is told to go forth, be fruitful and multiply. Then God states to Noah that he will never destroy the earth. For a sign, he put a warriors sign up, a bow (as in bow and arrow). This is the first mention of covenant in the Bible.

v. 18 - 28
We are told of Noah changing professions here, being a farmer, and getting drunk in his tent. One of his sons saw him told the other two brothers and they covered him. For some unclear reason, Noah curses not the son, but the son's son.

Genesis 10
Chapter 10 is a general genealogies. These genealogical are important to the Jew, they establish who you are. But to a Christian, they establish the bloodline. That will be important to us.

Genesis 11
v. 1 - 9
The people want to make a name for themselves, not for God. Their selfishness is what got them spread. God even says that man can if he puts his mind to it, do anything. But they are scattered and given different languages.

v 10. - 26
We go back to Shem, Noah's son, and trace the bloodline down to Terah, father of Abram.

v. 27 - 32
Final tying up of Terah's life.

Jan2, 2003 Genesis 4-7

Quick note on yesterday reading, chapter 3 v. 21, the Lord made clothes for them and they were not plants This is the start, the blood has to be shed for sin to be covered.

Genesis 4
v 1 - 15
Cane and Able born. Able, the second born, took care of animals, and Cain, the eldest, was a farmer. When they came to sacrifice, notice two things, there is no blood in Cain's sacrifice and he did not bring the best. There is a good chance that the blood was not necessary in this case, it was to the Lord but not for sin. But, he did not offer his best. We are to offer our best when we offer things to the Lord. We are not to offer second best. For that reason God was displeased. Cain got angry that his brother got the best from God, but rather than seek out what was the matter with him, he figured he could get rid of the problem and God would have to like him. Wrong choice. And when God punishes him, he again weasels out.
v. 16 - 24
A trip through Cain's family line.

v. 25 - 26
Eve starts the bloodline here that will eventually lead to Jesus. The one who helped in the sin will help to bring the deliver eventually.

Genesis 5
Here is the bloodline of the Adam to Noah, the start of the redemption.

Genesis 6
v. 1 - 8
It is unclear the 'Sons of God" I tend to believe that it would be Godly men from the line of Seth. It could mean fallen angels, but that would mean that angels could mate with men and that seems to be against what God would plan (I think). It does not matter a lot, as what ever came of such a mating was about to be killed in the flood as God saw that all was evil. That is except for one man, NOAH.

v. 9 - 22
Noah is instructed to build the ark. And to bring two of every animal on to the ark. Also to bring food for the animals as well(v. 21).

Genesis 7
God modifies the rules for the animals to bring on the boat. Mostly for sacrifice reasons. One thing interesting here. Rain has never been mentioned before in the Bible, yet when Noah enters the ark it rains AND the grounds open up and water floods the earth. But Noah and his family are safe.

Jan1, 2003 Genesis 1-3

Genesis 1
Ten times (the number of perfection) God said, and seven times (the number of God), God saw that it was good. The Bible clearly states what has happened. Does that mean that these are to be taken as literal days? Does that mean there was light before there was a sun? I do not know what it all means. But I have faith that it happened as the Bible wrote it. And the progression is perfect. You need water for plants, you need plants for animals to eat. One thing I noticed though. Before the fall, man was a vegetarian. After the fall things changed.

Genesis 2
Other than the beginning of two, where the sabath is defined, Chapter 2 is just a retelling of Chapter 1 from a different direction. Notice man was doing his job of dominion over the animals. He named them, the one who rules gets to name. But a helper was needed for man. And the triune God chose to take a part of man, the female side he was created with, and make a separate being.

Genesis 3
The serpent was the Devil in disguise. He planted a seed of doubt in Eve's mind. Why did Eve respond with something that was a stretch of God's teaching. Did Adam not teach her properly, did she exegerate? The tree was good for wisdom, but the type of wisdom that wold make man independant of God, and that brought about the death, when we think we do not need God we are spirtualy dead. Adam did not need to take the food, but he did, listening to his wife (God even says that) instead of God. And here we have the first example of passing the buck. Adam blames God (the woman you gave me) and Eve. Eve blames the serpent. The serpent, actually Satan, get the first prophecy of Christ's coming said to him, Eve gets told there will be pain in childbirth, and that she will loose co-leadership with her husband and desire to rule over him. And Adam gets the worst, life without parole in working the earth and never having enough. Lastly they get kicked out of the garden so they do not eat the fruit that let them live forever in their sins.
